Wattage Crazy 8 ready for maiden....

Finally done up the kit- a few mod to accommodate the gear box/motor and battery compartment on the top hatch rather than in the fuselage for easy switching of battery. Now awaiting for her maiden flight. wish me luck!!

Power to weight ratio is quite good on 3S drawing 150 ish watts and AUW of 715g...

Well...wat a shame!! Crashed big time a few months back due to wrong thrust line set up and abit aft CG but didn't have the courage or in another word(Face) to update this thread.
After fixing up the fuselage, improvised the motor mount to accept a stick mount.. and a few ugly masking tape to hide the ugly scars and at the same time covering the big lobang at the fuselage...

2nd re-maiden--guess what... flew up like a 3D plane... almost hovering which is damn weird coz im not at that stage yet. Fighting the plane, giving it a nose down attitude with different throttle settings and finally managed to put it down safely with a few streaks of sweat trickling down my cheeks. Time to hit the hanger and got the structure engineer to work on it...I have inserted a bolt to push the motor down a few mms.... to correct thrust line.

3-re-maiden-- took off... climb well with a nose high attitude, a bit high for my comfort... down a few clicks on the elevator trim tabs on crusing and a few right aileron trim and woila!! Flew like an arobatic pattern plane!! Fast and agile!!

      Here it is!!

See you use a mushroom type BL for the 8. Enough power for this plane? Cos it a little heavy plane. Have one of it many moons back. Still kinda miss it

Well..its more than sufficient to power up this plane... Some cheapo motor from unitedhobbies.. rated at 1200Kv.
