Hee ok, remove any biasness cos I have an EStarter myself and am totally satisfied with it - I think all the Cessna/Beaver etc based planes are more or less the same in the sense that they have the same flying characteristics. What might sway your decision eventually is probably the looks
Since you are not totally a beginner (flying heli is no joke leh!), guess we don't need to tell you that the more important thing is to make sure the new plane set up properly so CG is right and everything is correct (eg. motor/prop combination). The last thing you wanna do is try to fight 'opposing forces' while learning how to fine tune your control of the plane's flying characteristics.
Again not trying to put any biasness here or advertise for anyone, but I got Derrick from Skyhobbies to set up my EStarter for me and you can just take it straight to the field and fly! Much easier that way as a first plane

I recommend Multiplex Easystar for the ultimate in ease of flight. It's impossible to tip over, and only 3 channel, and I hear it can thermal. Also, it has a blunt nose, so it's impossible to have a nose crash and break motor mount. In this case, it's better than the SS or beaver. However it's horribly expensive compared to the SS or beaver.
I think it's about $150 sgd."Always fly with a responsible attitude. You may think that flying low over other people’s heads is proof of your piloting skill; others know better. The real expert does not need to prove himself in such childish ways..." - the Multiplex Build Manual

yes its a bit ex.. but given its almost unbearkable and its foating capability..
this should be a good one to learn...
I'm no plane flyer myself.. was flying it in my sim and now thinking of getting a plane to learn...Life is not the amount of breath you take, it's the moment that take your breath away
