    480 direct

    i jus bought new timer with 480 direct motor...wats e recommended esc to be use with this motor config???i tried with my 400esc n it actually cut of my motor after throttlin bout 10 secs...pls advise...thaNX!!

    sorry could not understand what help u need.

    480 size motor? stock? brushless?
    what is the prop size you are using for direct drive?
    what plane or heli?

    how much voltage you are using? battery? lipo? 2/3 cells?

    need more info..

    and whats a timer? that you bought.

      sorry for e lack of infos...its actually a cermark park flyer call new timer. comes wif 480 direct motor. i use it wif a esc400 from gws n a 7-cell 8.4V 1000mah batt...i full thrott it bearly less than 10sec n it cutoff my motor...prop size is a 7 by 4 i think....i'm unable to calculate how much amp my motor is drawing le??

        I'm putting my money on the cells.

        Have you tried changing to KAN 950 cells? They should work wonderfully with the amp-sucking 480 motor. Get it from SHS. Or PM me.

          base on what you said, it will be drawing rather high amps on 7x4

          try 7/8 cells kan 1050

          6x4 folding or 6x3 folder.

          run a 30amp esc from SHS should be ok.


          full throttle run time should be around 3 to 4 mins. flight time.

              i jus replaced e cell with a new kokam 2-cell 7.4V 1500mah(super high discharge)...doesn't cut off anymore...

                That's good to hear.

                With lipos, you gotta be careful again. Those lipos do not like getting discharged to less than 6v. Your ICS400 will CUTOFF AT 4.3v/3.2v which will totally toast the battery. Be careful.

                According amp draw, I suggest you fly a maximum of 6 minutes.

                  hey bro...thanx for e advise! nonetheless,i've been flying my gws cub with a li-po 2-cell 1400mah from ah chan n a gws 300esc...so far so good;i was able to clock an average of 25-30mins/flight... i actually haf very lilttle knowledge of e electrical aspects of it...
