Me thought so but they are on the prudent side of recommendation. AXI has bigger potential than the textbook stuffs after some discovering through trial & error.

To share with you the truth many get lots of wonders how 2212/20 can spin an 11 x 4.7 prop but it did very well and has tremendous torque pull. Only thing is to watch your amp supply and your ESC capacity. As so far I have tried 2212/20 on a Kokam 1250 maH 3s 20C give much better pull than drawing from the 1500maH 3S. ESC is a 2512/3S from MGM Compro.

Flight time ~ 8-10 mins normal fly-around and 5 mins on intense manoeuvres. 5 mins of heart-pumping action flight is more than enough for weak heart like me!

I know how some people push their AXIs so hard Ull be demagnetising the magnets by running it too hot.....

I see many heli flyers over runryder are like running the small axis on 4s and 5s .............

Btw where do you fly?? i wanna watch!

              Forget it.

I worry for the batteries more than the motor. These AXIs are competent motors. With a 11x4.7 prop on a /20, it would draw over 20 amps. Watch out!

                how heavy is the plane?

                RTF ?

my cap 232 is abt 620 grams with a etac 1700 and align 1000kv 10x7 apc

flys nice but not enough juice for full vertical.

hows the hot point? i saw the quiet storm in SHS and the kit came with many issues ... thus i gave up seeing that the hot point is a much better built RTF machine.

my concern is what power plant to use for this plane.
i'm a rc sotong. And i know nuts about it.

The QS is much better. Dont think theres much doubt about that. Its quite alot more expensive though. The qulity of the QS is exceptional, and the videos of it flying is really something.

On the other hand, think there are some QC issues that you were refering to. Like some kits lacking certain parts etc. Sorry if my last post sounded harsh. Guess got to check the kit throughly before buying. Other than that though, like the design and all very much. Ryan, let us know if there are any defects with your kit ya..

Jethobby boss is very kind to let me inspect the kit before buying. I have no prob assembling it and no lack of parts at all. All intact.

I tried some manoeuvres on Sunday but just cannot fight the wind and got tossed around.

So far managed to review the following:
                        - decent knife edge at 3/4 throttle
                        - Loops very smooth
                        - 2 rolls quite axial (however my cg is nose heavy, will correct it)
                        - inverted nose heavy but can go straight & level after down elevator applied.
                        - Top Hat didn't make it cos I can't fight the wind ...
                        - Roll rate at high rate is very agile!
                        - Snap is agile
                        - Double Immelman got tossed by wind again ...
                        - Landing needs a little power to hold.

Will try other manoeuvres again soon...

Electric_newbie : 3S2P needs higher rating ESC and of course the overall weight to the hotpoint is heavier.

rebuilt the plane yesterday nite and will test it out later on the gs motor and metal gear box from jet.

                          will run on a 10x5 prop ...

mod the plane abit to fit in the batts (1700 etec from mack)
                          should be fun..

very fun plane to fly !!!!

the only thing is getting used to the rudder...which i never used while flying planes..

                              congrats fuse!
I'm sure is better than foamie in terms of wind resistance...

not really true, my ez star can fight wind..

rolling the hotpoint at high rates was very nice , loops was also round and nice.

my favourite was the stall turn.. like my heli.. very fun indeed
