    Basket,

let me add to the list too.

For cheap alternative and a great learning experience. Trust me, if you can build and fly a mugi, you can pretty much design your own flying wing too

Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.

I'm gonna try to build the Mugi. Just some qustions before I embark:

                    1. Are the instructions and plans for the plane complete? It seems to me that some things are missing.

                    2. Are twinwall sheets expensive? Can get at Popular or Artfriend?

                    3. Advisable for newbie to build it?
                    I can haz diving?

By the way, not sure if it's ok to say it here, but heck, I'll say it anyway, I've got 1500 plans in a CD, anyone want one, kindly PM me.

                        cheers!

Ok. I'll answer some of my own questions:

                          1. It's complete.

                          2. Popular sells 800x500 sheets for $3.05, Artfriend: 750x500 for abt $3.15
Cannot buy Artfriend sheets because plans call for 800mm width. Artfriend's sheets short by 50mm

                          3. Donno. But I destroyed 1 sheet because I was stupid. The ribs must run horizontal across the 800mm width. I cut mine to 800mm...but had vertical ribs. Idiot.

Mugi plans call for contact glue. You can get from Homefix DIY shops.
Mugi plans call for wooden skewers. You can use satay sticks, or Old Changkee skewers.
Mugi plans call for carbon pushrods and clevises etc... You can just get steel wire and do z-bends.
Mugi plans call for Scotch 550 25mm waterproof tape to attach elevons to airframe. You can use your fibre tape.

The only thing I can't find a substitute for is the elevon horns. I guess need to spend $ on that.

If you have a Multiplex plane like the Minimag or anything with 400 motor and Gunther props, you can transplant the two over to the Mugi. Unless you want to go brushless...then I can't help you.

I guess that's all I've learnt so far.
                          I can haz diving?

For those who are looking for a 3D model as reference, check this out

                            Zoom Zoom 4D,

Note the motor used, weight of plane, prop, lipo etc...for reference ...

The recommended power set for all-round indoor/outdoor performance is an AXI 2212/34 OutRunner brushless motor, Castle Creations Phoenix 10 esc, APC SlowFly 10x4.7 to 11x4.7 prop, and Poly-Quest 3s 1100mah lithium polymer battery pack. For high-power outdoor, I opted instead to install the AXI 2212/26, Castle Phoenix 25 and Poly-Quest 3s 1500mah li-poly pack.

...er...Mugi needs a 'pusher' motor. How to make a motor 'push'?

                              Thank you.
