Need advise on newbie EP setup

Trying to start with the slow stick, and have browse into some of the advertiser sites for some price info, but am still little confuse on the setup.

To begin. I obviously need the slow stick trainer, a 4 ch radio, 2 or 3 servo??. Motor and batt. But there's one vendor that have listed ESC as N/A??? and also a feather rx.

Firstly. I thought esc is a must for all EP models??.. and I believe one of those feather rx has a limited range. Hence, can I use a normal rx on a slow stick??

Hope someone here can throw some light.

well some micro rx has 800 m range. the reason for using it is because the weight is much lighter that the regular standard rx. this is a must (to most pple anyway) for a light electric aircraft.

yes you are correct. you need a BRUSH esc for a brushed motor and a brushless esc for a brushless motor.

if i'm not wrong, the SS has only rudder and elevators. hence you need two servos.

    you'll need:
    -tx
    -rx
    -batt for plane
    -esc
-motor(usually a brushed one comes with the plane)
-2 MICRO servos (the standard ones are kinda heavy for a SS)
    -charger for batt

Cheapest price range: 100 to 300 dollars depending on what type of tx you buy. hope that helps

a 4ch basic radio is good enough to learn on . if you're getting a slowstick, you might wanna try and check out Skyhobbies . again, im not promoting them but its just that it happens that tehy sell combo set , something taht lazy people like me prefer.

if you get the SG (slope glider version or NPS ( No power system) , can get the 370motor combo . motor + esc.

then get a 2slipo , like revolution or DN lipo at Jethbby or ---------- then get a cheap charger or 2nd hand charger .

then if you can, get a 2nd hand Tx+rx or get a very basic tx like the one at sky, TX + RX @ $95 ? or the TDF tx + RX at jet for $89 ?

for rx , there are some rx which has a range of 300m like the GWS ones while some like the Airtechnic or Hitec non feather series has arange of around 800m.

how far can we go before we lose sight of the plane ?

Which character are you test by
