Where to buy? - Styrofoam block

    Hi hi,

Can anyone kindly share, where in Sg can I purchase styrofoam block sheets thicker than 2" in the 36" x 24" format? Looking for 4" thickness for a foam wing cutting project.

Largest found in the artfriend etc stores is 2" thick only.

    Thanks.

                Hi Cycross,

Some time back, I posted that I have some styro blocks/sheets for FOC pickup at my office. DennisP, ER69, JamesWilliamSG have picked up some from me previously. Confirm can use for modelling purposes.

Think we have some left over that is your size. However, I will not be in my office until Thursday. Can I check and post here to let you know, that is, if you can wait till then?

                Cheers

Split the wing section into top and bottom halves. Cut them seperately and join them later, or you can lightly tack 2 pieces of 2" foam with 3M77 and hotwire cut it.

Using the split method can also make the cutting of the wing joiner and servo wire troughs easier.

3M77 is the only glue I know that still allows hotwire cut to pass through.

Joe can the new batch of 3m 77 still be used? i heard it has acetone... which melts the foam... any alternatives to that? i'm looking for a quick/light glue for foam... can recommend?

I don't think it's the problem of new batch or not. I was told of this years back, but later found out that the one that eats foam are of different type, not different batches. As long as the can appears black and not brown, it should be okay.

Can anyone else verify? My latest can I bought was purchased during last year's last quater.
