Range problems @ old holland rd

Hi Flyers, anyone having range problems at old holland rd? Was flying there last weekend and lost control of my plane at about halfway the breadth and my plane planted itself into the ground!. I am using optic 6 with airtechnic rx that has not given me any problems before.

Another flyer with a zero plane with hitec rx also experience lost of control around that area.

Did a range check after the crash and found out that it lost control in less then 18 paces away! However when i did a range check(antenna down) at a field near my place, i was able to achieve 60 huge paces (~60meters) before i lost control of it. So i assume my electronics are ok.

Anyone with similar experiences to share?

Hi Inv. Angel, its a big plot of bare land (slightly sloping) between ulu pandan rd and bukittimah rd(behind Tan Cheong motors). U can check out the map from can.com.sg and search for "old holland rd" ... its just beside the 'Fong Yun Tai Assn's Columbarium'.

I live near where you have just mentioned, and sometimes use that stretch of the road for brake testing of my 1:1 car (Shhhhh...). Kekeke.

It is possible that you are getting massive RF interference from the nearby earth sattelite stations, the Radio/TV attenae on top of Bt Timah Hill, and even the radars all the way to Bt Gombak area.

In any case, if you have ever driven along the PIE, you will notice that between Beauty word and BKE, if you are talking on your mobile phone, many a times, you will lose signal and even possibly experience a dropped line. Maybe this is the same reason why you lost control of your RC plane. U are just about 1+ km from the PIE where you are flying.

I would stop flying there all together.

Just sharing what I have noticed.

          Cheers

Me crashed 2 times on 2 of my visits there (1 dead, 1 revived). Looks like a real interferance problem there .... wasted, such an ideal place....

No problems there so far on 35Mhz.
I fly all kind of electric planes and helis there.

I experienced a few glitches when the train passes by. Other then that, no problems so far.

I'm on 35Mhz, my Zero is using PPM, no glitches but lost control when near the bunch of tree.
My T-rex using QPCM so far no affected.
