Is EPP Foam popular here in Singapore

Just like to check with you guys if EPP form is good to work with ?

Is it easily available here in Singapore.

How much will it cost me to order from oversea ?

What is the size they come with ?

    Thanks

If you guys still think the EPP is unbreakable, then you are wrong...

I ever tried to bend a epp foam all the way into half and when I let go it just return to its normal shape.

I do not know how you actually break it. Unless you take a knife or sissor to cut it else I don;t see how it can be broken.

You may want to share your experience.

Those who fly Zoom Zoom 4D or Southern X2 will know what I mean.. Make sure you reinforce the motor mount and battery compartment section.. if you are still keen to build one yourself.

            Good luck!

EPP is not at all that unbreakable.
It is flexible but not durable.
Those who own an EPP before should know.

EPP is only flexible under constant pressure, but when u crash land, the sudden impact might be too big, and it will break.

Try doing a sudden snap on ur EPP plane and you'll understand what I mean

                  Epp

From my own experience EPP is spongy in nature. When you compress a sponge it will bounce back to its original shape. EPP behaves very similiarly.
But if a piece of sponge is pulled, it will be torned. EPP also has the tendency to "tear". However, the tear is very defined and the two torn surfaces can be joined back to an almost perfect fit, thus its very to repair damaged parts.

Some of the guys I know have crashed/repaired numerous times on a single airframe. But the only tell-tale are the obvious weight gain and the over-ooze of the epoxy at the repaired parts.

This material is great for beginner aircrafts.

                  Cheers,
                  Leon

Just my point of view , flexability is also the down fall of EPP. It is so flexable that it lost the strength to hold its shape under external force. Fuselage or wing will flex or twise in flight, which affect the original flight characteristic of the plane.....that is why most of time it is use for 3D flyer when speed is not the concern. Even that slow flying in extreme 3D still have the flexing problem.

Think the best application is small comba plane lor. BTW is not easy to glue EPP and it take in water like sponge.

we call plane make of epp "fish in the sky"......because their tail tends to swing side to side

                        EPP Foam

                        Very interesting perspectives!

My U-can-do-3d EPP crashed several times, the "undercarriage" tore several times and it wags its tail like nobody's business at high speeds!

I've been trying to locate a shop that sells EPP foam. Anyone knows where to buy?

                        Yeek

I seen a japnese gentleman at the JW with a EPP plane. He demonstrated to me the strength of the EPP by bending his fuselage. it bent under pressure, but return to its original shape when the pressure is released.

I have also heard from my fren that EPP is available in Singapore.
