    A sad Day

    Hi all flyers,

Just would like to tell you what happen to me today which I hope will never happen again to anyone else...somebody jammed my freq and thus crashed my plane.

Today I was at Woodlands flying field at around 9 am. The weather was good and I was the only one there. All was good...tx and rx batt at full charge...did a range check ...engine running at optimum. Took off on the runway on the northerly direction...Flew 2 sorties did several touch and go...all good. By the way I was flying at the T-juction in the middle of the field..At about 10 am..I refuel her for another flight...as I was taxing her out for a line up, I notice a fellow RC flier, parked opp christ chuch sec sch, unloading his stuff... He drove a gold colour car...hyundai if I'm not wrong.

Anyway to me its great to have a company of another flyier. So I lined my plane up...and took off the same direction as before. Did a continuous left turn for downwind..thats when she didnt respond to my controls to level off... she went down at with a full throttle. ARRRGGHHHHHH......The crash spot was just 5m from the road where we normally park our cars.

I was thankfull it didnt hit the gold colour car and the owner...as from where i was standing it was pretty close to him. As I was walking to retrieve my plane...expecting some harsh words from him...but to my suprise...I saw him quickly packing his stuff..and left!!!!!!....Thats not normal from a fellow flyier!!!!unless he has a part to play in my plane crash.!!!...I suspect he might have turned on his TX before checking freq!!!! A motorist who happened to be there also saw the F**Kiing driver drove away.

Well guys....thats what happened to me today...lost a plane...

To that Fellow..well if u're reading this...all I have to say to you is What comes around goes around!!!!

I think something should be done do avoid such things from happening. this hobby is getting more popular now and more ppl are joining in...some ppl just dont know or give a damm about safety.

Any suggestions?...How about everytime someone flies...he hangs a notice...on a lamp post or tree...informing his freq and hp number??

sad to hear your mishap, glad you did not have liabilities involved.
Co-incidently I am also driving a Hyundai Gold Tucson. Hope my friends will not speculate/mistaken it's me cos I never had a chance to fly at Woodlands so far... so please the other "Gold Hyundai" car owner please own up

His act of scrambling away is the act of guilt knowing there's someone flying in the air and yet on the TX without checking

            Prevention

So how now? need a solution for this lah...

I'm seriously thinking of everytime we are at the field...put up a sign on the lamp post...stating the freq in use....So that lazy buggers who dont bother to walk to distance to check other freq in use can read it off the sign.

or you could do a CHAN trick and get some obsqure unkbnown frequency band that nobody in singapore uses, (illegal) but needless to say if every one did that, then we would all be in a spot of bother.
so why dont you set up a frequency bord at woodlands like the one we have at RMS simple, works, keeps thinks safe.
sorry about the loss of your plane BTW what was it

                  Guys,
May I suggest that we do not encourage or even mention the use of illegal frequencies on this forum....you never know who is reading this stuff.
                  Cheers!

ALL RC FLYER SHOULD CHECK FREQ. ON SITE WHEN U REACH FLYING SITE/FIELD BEFORE U SWITCH ON YOUR TX!!!!!!

This is what i do when i go flying! Please remember, rc flying is not playing with toys! it will kill if u want it!

Personally I do not know if this can be avioded. I am truelly sorry for what happened to musfin, but it is obvious that whoever the "flyer" was, he is undoubtfully someone who is very irresponsible. It is a known fact that regardless what you fly, run or sail, a frequency check must be done. This guy was either oblivions to the things happening around him or basically didnt give a hoot! This explains why he packed up and left and unless you are in a control zone, placing tags or frequency numbers will not work as there isnt anyone to enforce it. Hence we need to take precautions. All of us.
I really feel upset for you. Some time ago when I was flying at Yishun, A fellow modeler landed his new F4 Phantom and there was an unlicenced "L" driver practicing driving in the carpark. She ran over the plane, squashed it to bits and didnt bother to stop but just drove off. The ugly Singaporean shows its head again. An incident like this with what happened with musfin will be repeated...you can bet your life on it!
I can only suggest that unless we are flying, we take the initiative to check with the other person. I know its not fair, as the new commer should do this but if it saves your plane......
Personally I avoid flying alone, this because this sport is potentially a dangerous one (eg throwing a prop and getting hit in the leg or worse!) and should something happen, you have help. Whenever possible, have a buddy system.
Can you check the car ownership on the web if you have the licence plate no?

Well its hard to do that when u're already airborne..and the other person is a distance away...but next time will do that

the least is to go walk .. even if u dont wish to know the person at least go and ask frequency.

im a person who erm.. keeps to myself when i can but i still do check frequency and try to be friendly whenever i can on the field .

checking frequency when you see other flyers is a basic thing to do

sorry to hear your lost of your plane
