Engine noise level... 4S vs 2S

Found quite a bit of articles on comparing the noise level of 4S vs 2S... most of them to dispute the myth of 4S being quiter than 2S..

This one in particular has measurements of the sound produce by various setup used by their club members...

4S low pitch, 2S higher pitch

Low pitched sounds more consistent even at distances because they do not lose energy fast. They have high penetrative effect.
High pitched sounds lose their intensity after certain distance, so they sound loud at the front, and then softer after a certain distance.

To me, the lower pitch throb of a 4 stroke is much much more pleasant than the annoying whine of a typical 2 stroke.
