And here for some Electric Ducted Fan Products: LINK .
If you intend to move into EDF planes, please take my advice and invest a bit more and buy a proper fan and motor right from the start. Most cheap fans from china are not able to survive the high RPM required for proper EDF jet operation (35K and higher).
Hi, I would like to know what is a ducted fan system.
And have anyone heard of a brand called LS (LaiShing)?
Thanks!
Hi Inteliq,
I guess you are more or less know wats a ducted fan system after checking out the link for that Warbird had posted..
Lots of people i knew had tried and thinks that ducted fan plane can not perform as good as pusher or props plane and i think its not ture.
end of the day, its just like any other plane, the set up is very important.
1. inlet
2. clean ducting
3. high rmp motor
4. good set of batts to power .
When i first started flying DF, I am like most people, Well, a fan is a fan, why do i need to get other brand which is so much more expensive? rite?
but i am wrong, coz those fan might look alike but the materials they are made of are different. Most china made fans flex when at high speed and yes... that's wat you need in EDF, high speed (rpm) to give the thrust..
I think its good to invest in a set of good fan and motor for a start, so you will not need to buy anymore in future.(save more $$)
Take your time to look around for a good DF and motor set up. Infact there are a few which are quite good in the market..
As for me all my jets(weight of jet range from around 900g to 1.4kg)
At the moment, i am using wemotec fan with either Rcer warp4 2 turn or
Het 2 turn motors and powered by 3 or 4s batts..
Welcome to the "Duct side" and May the force be with you...
Hi Bro
I'm currently refurbishing a Mig 15 from Kamdax given to me by Jepry. I'm fixing it up for DF & wonder where you get your wemotec from?
I got a GWS DF but find that the material is too soft & actually get out of shape. Thanks a million.
Hi Joed,
Wow, Jepry had "retired" his MIG 15 already huh..
Think he is more into nitro nowadys..
Well, if you wan can PM and check it out with Warbird about the fan
For Mig 15 Try a wemoted and with 2turn motor(High KV)
and you will be surprise how it will perform.. but be prepare to use a 45A or higher ESC as it will be drawing about 41 to 43A..
Good luck..
On 4S you better hold your pants when you push the power in
BTW, on what plane will you strap the fan on?
One will be the F-18C Hornet size 110% and the other will be F-16 Falcon size 115% both are DIY in 5mm and 3mm foam from ArtFriend. Weight is part of a issue so everything are made in foam the only thing is the carbon rod in 4mm

yo james..
Good news, Artfriend came in 6mm depron already.. I got some the other day..
Check it out..
I think with the 2w20 and 4s set up, it can handle your jet weight up to about 1.5 kg..

If you guy are keen, just call or sms me. reasonable price I will sell.
The Wemotec fan is proven to be one of the best Electric Ducted Fan around. I have been using it since I m in the game and I still have the fan running on my T-33 (will be flying soon).
The Fan for sales now fitted with high grade brush motor. one with Wemotec and one with the Kysho Fan.
