Just follow the Manual and you will be fine.
The HET F18 can be hand launch. Full Power and launch it straight and level.
Bro,
There are 3 things that you do not know...
1) There are no manuals that comes with the plane
2) The HET Balsa F-18 weighs about 3Kg+ with everything in
3) Frankie's F-18 seems to be under power with 64mm EDF.

I flown the HET F18 before. It flies light with no issue. I was using Nicad 1800 then, much heavier than current lipos and is still able to handlaunch. The only advice I can give you is not to fly the plane too aggressively. I managed to fold its wing on the 5th flight. All it takes is a strong dive without power level off. So build the wing strong, there is only a wimpy balsa spar (hardly qualifies as spar really) holding the wing together.
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.

I try to lift up his balsa F-18 in the flying ground, it is heavy alright, other flyer says about 3 kg. no weighing machine to confirm.
Serious doubt it's flying capability by hand launch, unless can bungee or Piggy back to a nitro plane and release from high attitude.
no lar, Anyone who fly HET balsa EDF will know what it feels like carrying by hand. If any, the F18 is one of the few handlaunchable, other kits like the F20 will be tougher as there simply no gripping areas to achieve a good chuck. Check the 2 videos below, no need to throw like Hulk. Not trying to test your knowledge or run you down bro, but those who flown HET kits before will most likely have done proper watt per pound rule calculations. Feeling weight by hand and testing static thrust is very foamie edf level lar. HET kit kind of power level, you can't use feel, only proper calculations. The F18 is one of the more docile flying kit in the HET brand.
