    F-16 Building Thread

    Hi guys,

    New project...

EDF F-16 with Mega ACn 15/16/3 motor, 70mm DF and dualsky 2200mah 25C 11.1V batt. Static Amp draw, 20Amp max.

The kit comes with minimum parts, Upper fuselage, lower fuselage, 1 set of wing (sheeted with cover material), vertical fin, and stabilizer + metal parts. The plane was configured for elevon control.

The belly was sheeted with fibre glass to protect the belly from the damages from belly landing.

The plane is quite scale. The only comment was the air intake should be split from the lower forward of the fuselage, besides this flaw, the plane in general is very well done. Minimum pin marks and mold release marks. The mold release marks can easily sand away. The control rods and connectors are using ball connector, which make assemble and control movement very smooth.

      Forget to attach pics...

THe stabilizer was pretty straight forward. The control rod was install into the groove and a piece of balsa is epoxied to cover it. It was later sand to shape. The control rod was pre bend to have a anhedral setting for the stabilizer...

        Hi freeman,

Is this from X-Flight? I've built a similiar one and posted the built over here I think you have to dig a fair bit of foam out to use the 70mm fan. Place the fan further back would help in balancing the plane later.

        Cheers.

          Hi Shadow,

Thanks for the advice...Yup...The plane is similar one from X-flight, but I got it from Taiwan. What batt size are you using? I am using 2200mah 3cell.

          Cheers.

My 1st was from X-Flight and my 2nd kit from Taiwan too. I'm using 3S 2200mah. I'm thinking of using 4S with another motor later.

Cool. How far back did you position the fan?

The fan was right on the recommended slot...Anyway, any idea where is the CG? Got it from the website, the CG is somewhere around the cheater hole. Correct?

                  Thanks.
