Do you know where I can buy the smallest EDFs around?
Don't you think a quad EDF brushed depron profile X-wing sounds good?

Hi Sunstorm , try a twin 55 mm EDF before a quad .
Quad is very complicating in terms of wiring and you need 4xESC
1) 6 blade 55 mm EDF twin with Walkera Bl20-40-3.2kv ....estimated thrust over 700grams at around 26-26amps 3S lipo
2) 3 blade 55mm EDF twin with Tahmazo BL20-xx-3.8KV estimated thrust over 600 grams at around 18-20amps with 3s lipo.
I like option 1 because 1pack of 2100maH 3S 12C(20C is better) pack is good enough to power the twin and still give you a reasonable amount of static thrust and flying time.
Sunstorm, yeah cheers to the baddies. I haven't given her a name yet .What shall I call her? Any idea?
Cheers
So where do you get the decals? Print on Printer?
If you have a F15 eagle, or better yet, 3 F15s, do the 3 fighter jet teams la. Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp.

I got it from your recommended website and then printed on a laser printer.
I was debating wheather to use the good guys(autobots) or the baddies (decepticon) symbols. I opt for the latter.
Maybe more DIY EDF coming after I finished the HE162 WWII german jet planes kit project.
As for name , this is a full delta plane so must give it a villainous name like the black rider , black lighning or doom/black screamers(a cousin of star screamers).
....what do you think of the name doom screamers or black screamers eh?.
Plans, inside my head and some experimentation.
You can fold a paper plane and toss it till you get a good glide. Add masking tape to the head or tail to get the proper balance. Once you are satisfied with the glide performance , you can scale the plane up with depron material
for actual RC applications. Find a slope and conduct the gliding test/experiment. If the plane can glide, it will certainly flies provided you keep the wing loading reasonably low.
Hi here are more diy decepticon plane in the flying field.
Unfortunately, today it drizzle so was not able to maiden the EDF version.
The propeller version was maiden sucessfully but briefly as the weather turned bad shortly after..
P.S. the MPX twin is not a DIY plane...just happen to be there .
I was told you can get most of your DIY Rc materials at this place....have not been to that place yet. Friends usually bought for me,
Art Supplies: Art Friend #03-33 Bras Basah Complex. Blk 231, Bras Basah Road. Tel: 6736-8338 ... Friends of Museums (Singapore) ...
For depron please chose the one that does not have a hard paper adhesive over the Depron meterial, if you get the wrong type you will regret it later on.
Get depron that the cover can be easily peel off or no protective cover at all. Thickness is 3,5& 6mm .
Also available are foam friendly glue , paints and polyurethane for the deprom materials.
