Sherline CNC Project + Enclosure

Hi guys, it has been 1 week since i've gotten my Sherline 5400/5410 CNC Converted mill.

Using these:
Sherline 5410 + Accessories
3 X Kelinginc model KL23H256-21-8B Bipolar stepper motors
3-axis Xylotex driver board

Enclosure is made up of 20m profiled aluminum and 2mm acrylic board.

can you tell me where you got those 20mm profile aluminum ?
the cost in parts , e.g. corners, screws, and per meter ?

how much does it cost you to set up the whole system?
what software do you use?

20 mm profile from teck cheong aluminum, 16 feet for $30. Each joint is $2, so total cost of alu is about $92. It was a mistake purchasing the joint, because some other DIY shops do sell L-shaped metals that can be used as the joints.


As for the cost, i suggest you email sgtooling. But be prepared to put aside $3000 at least.

Hi, nice setup. Just wondering, which side is the door? I don't see any hinge? Like you, I setup my Mill recently and built my own enclosure using acrylic glued together. Did you just started recently or have you been machining for a while? Keep us posted of your projects ya.

Yea, i need a HOLLOW SQUARE/RECT ALUMINIUM of about 2-3 inches. Length around 30 cm .... Anybody has one? I reallllly need one .... going to make a vacuum adapter...
