naked wire help

hi found my old lego robotic set
but the wire coating is "decaying", making the wires naked
any idea how i can re-coat them ?

in the pic,
the top rubber is still intact but wire are already exposed.
the bottom is strip clean by me.

i would have used shrink tube but i cannot open up the case,
unless i want to destroy it.

cutting the wire is my last choice.

Coat them with enamel paint - test it out first on some bare wires, but enamel should be pretty insulating.

I thought that I can use some simple nail polish - the nail polish is some sort of "plastics" - so should be able to coat thick and then when dry - becomes an insulator!
