Guide to build 16k Cheap Campac

This is a guide how i build my clone campac and also will like people to DIY themself. It is fun and interesting.

cost will be less than 8 bucks.
diagram can be d/l from http://www.daddyhobby.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8318

1st picture: on ur TX and u will see this
2nd picture: put some ugly hot glue so the wire are totally secured
3rd picture: use packing tape to make a "tail" so u can put out easily
4th picture: put heat shrink (look neat)
5th picture: because got packing tape, the hole are covered. so have to poke holes

May I ask what will happen if:
When u using one of the model stored inside the Compac EEPROM, then suddenly got contact problem. Will your TX goes:
            1 - Hang
2 - TX signal goes haywire
3 - Nothing happen because maybe it already transfer the value to the internal memory

I think the easiest way to test the above question will be plug it out on purpose and see how.

            Thanks

plug in ur clone campac. on ur TX.
initialize it. then u will get to this:

              1st picture: loading
              2nd picture: 14models
              3rd picture: nice fitting inside

i just wan to reply ur question in the market place.

so far so good, i haven`t fly til the campac fly out leh ~ i try to run my models from the clone campac. it work fine. just like running it from the tx.

from wat i know, if u play model 9 to 14(storage in campac) and u off ur TX and pull out the the campac.
then u on again . there will be error beeping tone and error msg. then after 5sec, it go back to model 1.

Well, think u can reply me on this thread instead because I got -ve reputation point just by asking the similar question in the market place.

If u said u try plug out when u off it, then it is understandable but what I really like to know/concern is that when u fly halfway, suddenly got contact problem, what will it happen.

                  Thanks

how come got negative reputation point ?? hai~

it shouldn`t happen, if u solder nice nice, where got contact problem?? unless u itchy hand go and unplug it...

maybe find one of the days i will try out.

                        Super-Hornet:

regarding the contact problem, the result is below.

i switch on my tx and running on memory 9. then i do test on my IFO. work fine.

pull out the campac, it still working fine. left right up down . i dun believe. i go all the way to the kitchen and it still working fine. (range no problem, i think )

then i go to select other model. the screen hang, but the control still there.

conclusion: i think the tx read from the campac and there is no real time tranfer of data. so even u unplug it, it still running well. only when there is read or write action to the campac, it will hang.

                          Thanks monkey

So maybe once you selected the model, it already transfered data to its internal working memory. So there is no interaction between TX and Compac EEPROM. It only start communicating to EEPROM when u start changing parameters like trim and etc. With that, it try to write back to EEPROM but no reply and thus hang.

So that means a slight sudden contact problem (Rare but if it does happen) is ok so long as u didn't change any parameters during flight.

Sorry, I'm not EE trained so please bear with me. Will the memory in the EEPROM be erased when the clone campac is removed from the Tx?
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Nope. Memory retain even without electric

Think of EEPROM like EPROM but u can erase and write electrically...rather than using UV light.
