Quad Copter - The Journey started

    Hi,
After sometime playing with EDF, scale plane, Heli etc.. time to do something that seems to be the next trend of fun... Multi Rotor!

Here is the 1st Quad that use a very simple design and uses standard ESC.

Current setup is flying with 3S 2150 pack.
Normal flying time about 10min, last test was with 10mins steady hovering and smooth forward flight, after 10mins, charge back 1400mah using the iCharger.
Tested so far on Spektrum Radio and Futaba 2.4g
Only need standard 4 channel, no mixing needed as that all done by the onboard controller.

The test bed now flown by many flyers around me.. see the video background then you know where is the place.

Sharing one of the video that we tried the loop and roll.. real fun.

More picture will be taken to share soon..

Current Quad size as the picture next to my Futaba 12G.

If you see me.. tell me you want to try it... haha... dont be shy...

It was a surpised to me that it is mush stable then my Trex and feel like a coax Heli!

Hi, may I know what is the gyro board you are using? Does it offer telemetry support? What type of sensor has it got?

Is it stable in a typical hover w/o the need for much correction?

Current one is using microcontroller along with 3 Gyro. that take cares of all the mixing needed and stabilising.

No navigation for this one as it was for the low cost setup. Target to go below S$500 as RTF (w/o RX and Lipo).

Future may add IMU base for almost hands free or even navigation!!. I wont stop exploring

Today done another fun test flight - but my Video Camera runs out of Battery at halfway of flying.. will try to post the video ASAP.

              Forgot to answer this.
As my 1st post, it is like flying the Coax Heli.

I can hands off after the trim! If you can fly Heli, you can fly this for sure. Feel free to drop by to test it out. Your comments/feedback are most welcome!

I stop flying Heli for more than 6 years and still can do forward flight after 5 mins of hover just to make myself comfortable. (btw, I only can do normal forward flight 6 yrs ago with my Kyosho Nexus 30!)

Comments from Heli flyer is: This is like a Well Tuned Heli.. haha

DT8666, thanks for the reply. May I know where you guys are flying? I am interested in taking a look. My h/p is 96301398. Pls let me know if you are flying.

The x-600d that I was using can be had for just $400, but it didn't last too long.
