How is your Polyquest Lipo holding up???

    Hi!

I have a PQ1800N-3S 11.1v pack used in my Trex..

After approx 3 mths.. batt starting to lose capacity fast.

Brand new, used to be able to hover 10-12 minutes in my Trex with an ALIGN 400LF brushless motor .. now around 5 mins flat liao?!

Check my cell balancing before use and after use.. everything checks out ok leh.

It seems to mysteriously discharged itself faster as it ages. Is this normal??

Btw, I have been religiously charging it at 1C, never overdischarged over 3V per cell.

    Anyone has the same experience?

Yup i have had a few polyquest batts and they all end up as you've described.
Contrary to their ratings, i think the polyquests can't handle high discharge rates and get unacceptably hot. The battery tests at trextuning.com will prove this.

Do note that the new polyquest XP packs seem pretty good according to its review; this i can't validate myself however as i don't own any.

      Polyquest XP

The XP packs are much better.. in my TREX, I can feel its much more powerful at the same settings and best of all.. not as hot (can hold finger to it) as compared to the 1800N. (ouch).. maybe the heat is killing the batt!

maybe the pq cannot take high discharge, I have been using a 1800pq pack in my plane for around half a year liao, so far no problem with flight time and capacity, always charge with balancer and using my prolux. I find that it takes a high lot longer to charge with my t15. I am only drawing 14amp at max, so maybe that makes the difference?
