Well on 3s the motor would burn out pretty quick but it would be great on 2s

I am at hovering stage 2 to 3 ft high, land at interval of every < 1 minute. Will the Motor last for 5 cycle only?

Your brush motor will be happy below 9.6 volts, so 2 cells (6.0-8.4V) are the best choice for it.

            Zap400 stock motor running on 2cells (6.0-8.4V)? SHS recommended me a Kokam 3cells (12.6V).

What i experince is if u running low capacity 3s battery like 1200 the motor will run fine but if u run it on 1700 etec the motor just cannot take that kinda current flow.

Was running on kokam 1200 8c battery and fine the motor last more than 30 cycle but after i switch to etec 1700, sparks comes out in the innitial stage and slowly the motor degrade. In the end the motor has problem to power up and have to be discarded.

By the way the kokam dead prematurely even though according to voltmeter it suppose to be balance. Till now i still dun know how to revive them.

Then there the opposite effect, the cells cant take the discharge. 1200 8c can only discharge 9+ amps, much too low for a brushed 400..

You probably overdischarged the pack, I'd suggest to use a smaller motor, 350 perhaps. The way i see it, a 400 and li-po's are a bad match, they hate each other. If you must use the 400, then get ni-cds or metal hydrides..
