    Need advice..Polarity + -??

Hi,i'm using power adaptor on my TX instead of batteries.(8 AA batteries)Question is there is this Polarity setting - and +?Which one should i set it to...and the voltage is it set to 12V?Thank you.

A very simple way to check, which is the correct polarity to go with, is to do a voltage measurement on the wall plug charger that came with your transmitter. But you must be careful when you make the measurement, do not get it shorted...

voltage 12v?? thought tx usually run 9.6v?

Back wire should be - and red +
TX:2 Sanwa Quasars , Futaba 9C super (heli)
      Gliders :JW 54 , Sprinter , Flip400 (unbuilt)
      Planes: Jumping Jack,,Zoom 4D,IFO, magic 3d,
      Helis:Feda,Zap 400

Hi,no didn't come with the TX.I got it from sim lim tower. For electrical appliances.I see on the adaptor got setting of + and -....currently it's set on plus.I turn output voltage to 12V.But no power to the TX?!

            Its 1.2v a cell, so its 9.6v for a 8 pack.

            What tx is this?

I see....most probably.. you have set it to wrong polarity. Change whatever you have from + to - and vice versa. But.......do you aware that the power adaptor that you got are not really regulated. The ripples are usually very high. For a +12V setting, I believe that you would get somewhere close to 17V peak. I hope that your Transmitter still survived!

Those selectable are not truely regulated! All supply voltages are tapped at certain part of the transformer and rectifed by bridge rectifier. Especially those that made in China.

A regulated power supply must have a "voltage regulator" to regulate the voltage after the bridge rectifier stage. A smoothing capacitor is placed at the output of the volatge regulator to further reduce any possible ripple.

                            Power on indicator light on

Power on indicator light, light up when turn on power. So sure got current in the power adaptor.Unlikely the adaptor is faulty. In fact this is the first time i'm trying to use it on my tx.
