Prolux Lipo charger burnt out!

Hi! everybody. just want to tell urs to beware not to connect this charger wrongly as it will burnt out the internel 'triod' , mine is burnt cause
i connected my lipo reversedly. lucky thing is my lipo is save. so beware!

Does the charger not come with reverse polarity protection?

manual/instruction said have, but not those fius that we can change by ourself. so it burnt the inside component call 'triod'.

Its a black electronic component with 3 legs solder into the pcb board. if u open up the case u will saw it but u must desolder the 2 output terminal first.

I get a friend to repair 4 me, cost s$13-s$15 dollar for the component, my friend charged me s$20 only for 'friendship price'!

Wonder what will burnt if we connect the input wrongly? btw i think must be some other people have this problem too, right?

Hmm.. hard to believe a component cost $13-$15 dollar?
Esp one that is 3-legged!!
If it's a LVC, it's at most $5 or so at SLT..

Any pics or model number of the chip burnt?

It's a power mosfet.. which according to most website cost us$1.60 for single piece..

u bring the spoilt one to SLS and ask them if got the chip replacement..

OK... That is a Power MOSFET. Created by a company called "International Rectifier". I think Philips also producing it. Changes u can find this chip in SLT because I believe philips also using it for its Audio product.

Just bring the chip to SLT or ask for IRFZ44N. If U can't find it then either u scrap the charger or look for online internet order or find a compatible chip.

Oh... Changes u can find it in SLT basement.
