    High Amp Power Supply

    Hi guys,

Anyone aware of any power supply out there which can pump out 45-50 Amps at 12-13V?

    Thanks

      High current charger

      This is real:
12 hours to charge 6 lipos. Two LIPOs at one time with 800ma each.

You must be charging at least 20 lipos at one go

Hahaha good guesses but nope i'm not killing anyone or charging 20 or more lipos, i need it to drive three himax 2025 4200 at the same time each drawing bout 15 Amps at max throttle with the 1200 etecs, that means i'll need min 45Amps.

          in case u don't know...

unlike popular believe... it is not the voltage that can kill..
it is the current that can kill.

:-) Last time in school... we shock each other with a 45kV tester (low current)... hehe ant bite only.

... so dun play play with high current!!!
          huh

If u don't mind you can go to Sim Lim Tower (Kim Chai?) and look for industrial/manufacturing machine power supply. Those PSU can supply in 100A in 12V or 5V or even in 24V without any problem.

If u want second hand PSU or cheap, then go to the top floor and the shop sells a lot of industrial scrap parts.

If u want brand new one then the shop next to it has the brand new one.

i got a 35-40 amps 13.8 PSU from sim lim....the shop is on the third floor, think it is the second shop to the right, right after you step off the elevator......

been using it for a year or so....so far so good, but as the price is not as 'high' the PSU will not hold its voltage at 13.8 volts when pulling more than about 180 watts. The voltage dropped to about 13.5-13.6 volts.....not too crucial, but if you want 13.8, and stays 13.8 volts....then you need to pay more money for that holding power... =)

                    just my two cents......

Eh, i am not very electrically incline but wouldnt such a PS cost a bomb ??!!

I was thinking could we put 3-4 $15 PS capable of 12 amps in parallel which would give 48 amps but definately more affordable ?? Is this possible ???

It sure is! cost slightly more than $500 for a 12V 66A 800W switching PS.

I am using a 40 amps PSU which I bought from a shop in SLT basement, can't remember the name but it is opposite Kim Chew.
Cost about $240. Brand is Mansion
