anyway to save shorted lipos?

got some lipos that has been shorted.

the cells wires burn from inside out.

are they of any use?

like can we solder new wires?
or remove the damaged cells and save the goood ones?

Seriously, Ryan, not worth it unless u can test the lipos 120%..
Not worth risking burning ur home/model if the lipo is spoilt..

was wondering if there was some pro guy out there who can safely remove each cell, test them individually and re pack the cells if they are safe to use.

I am not an expert but been there.

How was the cell shorted? and if the insulation was melted from inside, the pouch would have balloned slightly and becomes soft while it was hot.

If you had experienced what I described, its better to throw it away. Its voltage under load will drop to below 3v almost instantly.

shorted i suspect due to esc solder melting hence +ve and -ve end met at esc. causing the batt to short.

however only 1 of the batts did what you described.

the other 2 had wire pop out of the metal tabs. epoxy melted i guess.

can you help save the packs?
