    Pike Precision Electro

About a year ago I got interested in 3m F3F/F3B type planes and got my hands on the Hurricane which was an insanely powered plane, at the same time Samba had just released their new Precision F3F and I fell in love with it at first sight. Knowing that they had an electric version of the plane, I placed and order.....12 months later after numerous delays and lower priority given the electric fuse, the planes are finally at hand. At my requests, Samba took some photos of the build process at their factory.

Definitely worth the 1yr wait. Seen it at the races, it can take loads of ballast, very fast n stable. Do get a glider fuse for some F n B action

      Leomotion motor? Super!

That leomotion wont fit.....only a 28mm can motor can fit the fuse....that was only for balancing and determining the weight budget

I expect the AUW to be around 2.5kg

Can show us your build? What are the electronics/power plant that are going inside?

The build is quite straight forward for the wings. Nothing special. The fuselage is the challenge due to very very limited space even less space than a pylon racer. I still have one more problem to solve.....where to put the RX battery???

After almost a month waiting for the ESC...the Pike has flown...here is a video of the 2nd flight this evening after yesterday's eventful maiden.

Never leave home without a RX battery

                        motor looks sweet.

how many watts is it pulling?

Were you using any snap-flaps? looks like it could use some for better bite on the turns.

                          Hi Pang,

Power about 1300 watts based on e calc. Snap flaps were on with 10mm throw. I suspect CG a bit forward and I wasn't pulling too hard. Could be one of those reasons.

That's an absolutely beautiful ship. I particularly like the orange and blue colour scheme. Thanks for the post and great video!

1300watts gives pretty good climb rate. The roll rate looks good for a 3m. Ah ok, cos my impression of this plane from what i saw when i was in tw and kr was its a very grippy plane. And can take loads of ballast, yet floaty.
