    Bringing RC Glider onboard Airplane via Changi Airport

    Hi guys. Im travelling to Thailand. Planning on bringing along my RC glider aka Bixler with me.

    I wondering if its possible for me to hand carry some of my lipo batteries like 3 of them onboard. 2200mAh 3s.

    So far anyone done that before ?

    Hand carry lipo confirm CANNOT. Must check in but i m not sure if any brudders done it successfully though.

    JUST one more Logo...for the month.

      No, it's the other way. You have to hand carry the lipos , cannot check in.

      That's what we did when we went thailand,Indonesia , HK, tw, Ukraine.

        Put in normal glider bag?

        those idiotic baggage handlers will crack it.

        By the way, I would like to go NZ to slope soar. hahah. just a dream of mine.

            Those travelling with planes normally carry them in a box. Checking in with a glider bag is definately a no no. It will be squashed to pieces and beyond recognition. Some made boxes out of Corroplast or plywood. A more secure method would be a Sportube. But they can be quite costly... so if you're carrying expensive stuff and want to make sure your model arrives in it's original condition, Sportstube is the way to go.

            BTW: I have know someone hand carry his DLG (1.5m winspan) in bubble wrap. If the airline allow then it's great. But if they don't...

              Hand carry all lipo packs. Never check them in. They are concerned about unattended fire caused by lipo in the cargo hold of the aircraft.

              If you can get a sport tube, make a slightly oversized box with Coroplast and fibreglass tape, pack your model inside neatly and secure the parts with tapes. After that pack the remaining spaces with clothings, bubble wraps or newspapaer. Once done, shake the entire box with the contents and make sure nothing rattles. I have been doing that for the last 6-7 trips to Phuket.
