Already looking forward to the next fly session. I've fixed the 2 motors that weren't spinning. Had a early morning flight today
@Kaen, the small little ladybird on top of Alex's 550 is classic

How about a gathering next weekend? (30th or 31st March)
Good chance to touch base and see what everyone else has been up to!

Touch wood, touch wood, no rain please.

Oh yes, out of curiousity, which frequencies are allowed/banned for FPV? Is it 915 or 433MHz? 1.2G, 2.4 and 5.8 are alright to use as of now I suppose?

                          They are all technically "banned"...
Any flying vehicle with a camera is considered FPV which is considered Aerial Photography... even a small keychain camera. Which means you need to apply for a permit from CAAS... who has a faulty link to the application form (ie. you CANNOT even apply for a permit lol).

Now.. assuming you have a permit (or ignore the red tape). The 915mhz frequency will clash with the GSM 900mhz band and give you poor performance (also super illegal). And 2.4Ghz will clash with your radio (assuming you went with 2.4ghz). 1.2ghz is not permitted, and 433mhz is allowed up to 10w power... for telemetry. I can't remember how the 5.8ghz was worded... but I think it was allowed up to 10w... (not 100% sure)... but if you can really be bothered... you can read the IDA RSMP document.

oh and if you get caught... don't bother hiding the gear... they roll in with spectrum analysers and find you before you hear them coming. Don't say I didn't warn ya! ;)

Right, I'll stick to 433 then. Heh. I like this new quick reply by default feature. Saves a bunch of page refreshes! Good job DH!

I wonder do they (the Singapore amazing flying machine) get their participants to apply for 'fpv' permit?

Here they are educating and inducing interest the younger ones but exercising restrictions on the older ones :P

given that events like these are likely government endorsed... I'd think they officially "close one eye".

And just found out that certain FPV cameras and GoPros sometimes emit RF interference in the 433mhz spectrum.... ARGHHH....
might have to build some shoddy little faraday cage for my little friends.... =/
