It was a tough contest but somehow I managed to pull through with a third placing. I will elaborate more later and I will be uploading more pictures soon.

The morning of competition day was stressful. We had to rush through breakfast and by the time we reached the field most of the competitors were already set up and practising.

As I set up my primary plane, Stobel V3, I found that the ailerons were not working. One wire had come loose and it wasn't possible to do any field repairs. In the end I was forced to use my Steigeisen for the whole contest without a backup plane. Not a good start to the day.

Former short putt athlete. This guy launches the TS2 consistently to 55-60m. Simply amazing.

The Steigeisen did very well for me on contest day. At the end of the day, I found a crack running through around the tail mount. This was from a previous injury and it came to head after the contest. Man, what a day.

Ronald and Thomas Wang (Beijing). Thomas consistently launches his plane high. He topped the qualifiers with 4000points.


Me and "Robust". This guy is a ball of fun. He has one heckuva launch too. He'll always have a comment to crack you up.




This guy has only a month of RC experience but he launches his Stobel consistently to 50-60m. Amazing.


Everybody wins. This guy has finished at the tail end for the last 3 contest and still came back for more. It proves that contests are generally fun. He was rewarded with his continued support and participation.

5th Place: Thomas Wang


4th Place: Mr Xu

3rd Place: Me (dunno why, suddenly cannot upload photo and I can't edit either). But you've seen the pictures


2nd Place: Kelly Cai


Champion: Thomas Lee with his own designed Neos. It weighs in at a whopping 250g but it is still able to range out far and come back. The Zone V2 airfoil is really slippery.
