    FL head on 450

i was thinking of this if it can be done as i can wait for the FBL head arrive.

is it possible to dismantle the flybar from original head and became FBL head with ROBIRD ?

Well, even if dismantling the cage and flybar, u still need a pair of long links connecting the head grip end to swashplate plus the angle is not best suited. It's possible but just get a proper head bro.

Ya,saw some of them. But had to find correct length linkage from head to washplate. And abit off angle.
          Very sucessfull flight too.
Currently think of mod the beam head, if not got to wait for the head to arrive then I will have no heli but lucky got the trusty walkera CP.

You can do this... It'll work.for the time being till you get a flybarless head. I was doing this (didn't fly with it though) on my 450, till I got my RJX 450 FBL head from RCS. Of course now, FBL head upgrades are available from Rotorhobby as well.

which one you prefer ? the one linkage rod is more straight to the swash plate or the one is at an angle to swash plate ?

Im not so sure will that will work on a beam 450 as i have no experience yet on those DFC heads, but the first pic for the FBL which i reckon is a RJX head works for my 450sport...been going strong for like almost 2years now...u can use trex 450 pro spindle on it, align dampers and kbdd dampers, align linkages....i think SkyHobbies sells also this 450 FBL head..if im not mistaken its called WinRC...check it out...cheerss:smile3:

Something odd about the FBL head in the bigger photo, not leading edge. Is this the actual design?

I bought the WinRC 450 head recently for fitting onto a 450 Pro, and observe some potential design problem...

                              (1) The WinRC head (and I observe on the Tarot FBL head too) does not have a recess to secure the nut of the bolt that fixes the head to the main shaft. The Align design has this, and IMHO, it's just better.

                              (2) The bolt that secures the head to the main shaft is on the same plane as the lower control arms... haven't tested yet, but it seems that at extreme angles, the control arms could rub against the bolt/nut? (Here, the Tarot FBL head is better, because it offsets this bolt by 90 degrees thus avoiding any interference.)

I know I can use the upper hole on the WinRC head to avoid the above problem, but then I would need links of a particular length which I don't have.

The original 450 Pro swash links are all now too short for the new head. End up I used the lower hole of the WinRC head, and some standard 450 links scrounged from spares.

HK also sells a 450 Pro FBL kit now..... could be a closer copy of the Align, but have not seen it yet.
