I'm posting it up again because there are a few people having problems with non-stock FEda motors\Brushless\outrunners and tail power problems
Works best with 9 tooth pinion and pitch adjustors+ head stiffner.
Tired and tested set-ups:
GWS 370 motor + 9 tooth -> Smooth but slow vertical performance.
GWS 370 + 10 tooth -> Faster crispier response but motor heats up very quickly.
GWS 370 + 10 tooth + Wrapping the blades with thin heat shrink -> Fast Crisp response, Easier to pivot and turn..... Least or no GE......
Mabuchi $6.80 7.2V motor (re-timed) + 10 tooth pinion -> motor hardly gets hot, tail motor working fine. Motor maintains power better under load [eg, dropping the heli by shutting throttle quickly then blasting throttle again].
