R30 Vs R50

Hi guys, was reading up, just curious, anyone owns both of these? Care to share the significant difference other than price tag?
What electronics would be good enough to fly this for mild inverted, loops for a beginner?
Base on the stock engine & muffler would be best.

Actually I prefer R30. It is smaller and I was thinking of slowing increasing size.
I'm thinking of nitro because of costing also. Electrics are a killer at the price tag.
The diff in price tag for the package can cover up quite a part of the electronics also.
Big big investment.... don't know if it will be a white elephant

There is a small difference in price but a VERY significant difference in the 'floatiness' and stability between 30 and 50 size.

30 size has a louder and higher pitch scream as well

Saw a 90 size & 50 size flew the other day, they really do float well and agility not as good as small size electrics.
My learning curve bit low now, so need slower machines to match the pace.
Thanks RCS, guess you're given me a very good comment I need. I know my directions now.
Now to get the "internal clearance" and M power to fulfil this dream...... its freaking big... and it'll scare & annoy "someone"

Think my thread will stir up all the sleeping R50 in Market thread

wah HDB going to upgrade again??

Buy r50, but don't buy new, buy second hand one...now used r50 is dirt cheap. R50 and R30 are the almost the same thing, just longer boom, longer blade. Titan comes with all the push pull and boom mounted servo, but those are not very useful actually. If buying new and want to save some money on fuel, can get the tt50 together with the kit as its cheaper, I think its just $100++ more for kit+tt50 engine. R50 kit also comes with a nice muffler, whereas r30 kit comes with a lame one that will leak occasionally.

Although 30 and 50 share the same mechanism, they fly miles apart because of the larger rotor disc and power. Both can do mild inverted and loops, but its a matter of how beautifully it is done and how easy to do it. The r50 "bite" the air when you ask it too, whereas the r30 might require the pilot to think one step ahead of it. You will not go wrong with a fifty size.

hitec 635hb on cyclic and collective, normal ball bearing servo on throttle and gy401+9254 will be good enough for learning. Of course the more you pay, the better it will get.

Recently upgraded my E550 to R50 to E620/R50 titan size. E550 is a R30 size.

I would say, go straight to R50 size. U will never look back. When I first flew the E550, I tot it flies great. But when I upgraded to R50 size, this thing flies even better with a lot more stability. The auto-rotate was even better. The punch was awesome.

The motor, esc, electronics n batts remain the same thru my upgrades.

I have the R50 tail boom, belt n control rod. Let me know if u want to upgrade. I upgraded to R50 titan, slightly longer than R50 so these are juz sitting ard.

U drive the same car as me leh, sure can fit in lah. Philip Chong, SG no.1 F3C pilot also drive same car as us. He can bring his two 90 size heli in his car leh. 50 size is nothing lah.

I transport my E550, CKS Trex600 n Ken's Trex600 in my car boot at the same time. Plus my 50size Coast Guard Fuselage.

Our car boot is really big, u have yet to explore it. CKS should have a photo of our 3 50size helis in my car boot somewhere.

Compare frame to frame, a r50 with titan boom is only this much longer than a r30. If cannot fit in car, take off the canopy. The nose of most heli canopy is pretty long.
