ya thats real true, but Trex intimidating to set up. mechplas on verge to throw in the towel on his Trex... plagued by u a bo a problems. HB straight forward, take out and fly, unless doing 3D.
for beginner like me, Hb suits me fine, till i confident and got time(this one i rather spend flying ) to meddle in the Trex.

        Yoz guys,

Finally decided to take the plunge and bought myself the Honey Bee T(2005 edition). Haha

Had 4 flights before breaking my tail propeller, damn difficult to control man.

But also VERY VERY FUN!! To those who are contemplating on this hobby.. I say go for it!

Ok. This is impt. You MUST get yourself the trainer balls - extremely useful. I do not see the need for a simulator yet. Saved my rotors a couple of times.

My only complain is.. why only 7-8mins of flight? I must go get more spare batteries, cannot be running up and down to wait for batteries to recharge.

To those who gave me advice: THanks!!

the stock batteries that came with the HBT is NiMh. if u wan more fly time, invest in a couple of Lipo batteries (Lithium-Ion Polymer) but that will cost u, not forgetting the lipo charger u have to buy. around $200 plus more if u go for lipos.

first of all...congrats on your new heli glad that you have fun with it

yes..go for the lipos..stock charger won't last anyway..

for me, i have 2 lipos cost about $55 each
1 no. lipo charger (got it free but i think they cost about $25)
1 no. 12v lead acid battery cost me about $33
1 no. wall mount charger for the lead acid battery also cost me about $33

total would come to about $200+ but some ppl may be able to tell you where to buy cheap...

if you think you'll stay for long..get a lipo charger that can charge 3 cells..may cost slightly more though for the low end type..

the 12v lead acid battery, its charger and the lipo charger can be used for your future heli so don't be too intimidated by the cost

              Hi guys,

Thanks for the advise. The lead acid battery can be used for mobile charging of our battery packs? Is that correct?

Anyway, still unwilling to spend $$ on my accessories. Though my R/C helicopter is really giving me lots of fun now!

I bought second set of batteries (still Ni-Mh), just to charge while i am downstairs flying. Still too short a flying time leh.. hee.

              Tks.

glad that u r enjoying ur heli. if u intend to stay long in this, get a good charger that can charge different types of batteries, including the lead acid. its money worth spending, trust me. i own a T15.

yes, the 12v lead acid batt can be used for field charging..i always carry it around in my tool box hate to run out of juice when ff..

just a caution..don't overdischarge your lead acid battery..i normally recharge it after 4-5 charges of my lipo..

Trex is expensive leh. unless you have some prior experience in heli and dun mind spending more for maintenance and all.

I still think Esky made Honey Bee T really good for its purpose.. to train new R/C heli pilots like myself.

                          Actually,

I had the desire to get the Honey Bee T too, seeing as to how cheap it is. I have been left heli-less since I sold my T-rex and I'm trying to get back into the scene.

Any idea where I can get the specifications for the HB T?

Too expensive and too complex when compared to a T-rex
