Start with low cyclic gyro gain first. Slowly take off to hover. Feel anything not right, land immediately.

When hover, and no problem, try move Aileron and Elevator (one a the time) back and forth to see any problem or not. Again, any problem, land immediately.

If your cyclics gyro gain set too high, it will go into oscillation (just like tail wag). Tune it down a bit.

If everything OK, u can then increase your cyclic gyro gain till it reach your preference point.

Good luck in your maiden flight.

Oh! One very important thing I forgot to remind u b4 u maiden it. PLEASE check the direction of the gyro (or the counteraction from the gyro) is correct oh. Just like your tail gyro direction must be correct.

                it flies!!!!

Ok it didnt commit suicide on maiden..
an unbiased review of my first impression of SK360 on my heli:

                - i was flying in default 3D gain settings. no tweaking involved.

when i lifted off, the sound is the first thing that strikes u. it just sounds different, more quiet.

i idle up and went flip and rolling, everything on cyclics are faster and more immediate than with flybar (and i am comparing to flying with super stubz paddles). especially the flip rate. its almost unnatural, like flying a super powerful heli on a sim.

i did a few loops and got a skewed figure 9 instead cause the elevator cyclic was abit too much. i dialed in 20% expo and it came out feeling more comfortable.

i used to have tail slide problems as the heli would skew off to one side needing correction, no more such problem after SK360. everything moves as commanded.

inverted hovering is almost a hands off affair. i swear i took my fingers off at least 5 secs for a couple of times.

i gave myself a scare on the first landing cause no matter what mode, the cyclics remain the SAME. so after moving to normal mode to land, out of habit i gave the same amount of cyclic as flybarred and got a tail nick cause the cyclic was still super fast.

all in all, i had 4 awesome flights today and cant wait to get more in. its really woken up the already quick heli even more.

settings i would change from the stock 3D set up is faster roll rate, slightly slower flip rate and adding a bit of expo to make everything more natural feeling.

                in summary:

                positives:
                - super customizable settings, from tame to super 3D
                - no gyroscopic, phasing problems if set up is right
                - the sound!!
                - the looks!!
                - weight savings
                - easy to setup
                - heli is noticeably faster on forward flight. makes for awesome flypasts.

                cons:
                - need getting used to cause on all modes cyclic is the same (even on autos)
                - Cost, its getting cheaper but not exactly cheap yet.
                - u need to get it right the first time, if not its suicide on maiden. experience in prior RC heli really needed. not for 1st timers.

                  Got mine done as well

I have gotten the Bundle Flybarless head and SK360 from Ammo yesterday and maidened successfully today. Here is what I think.

                  Setup:

Setup is quite a breeze, just be kiasu a bit and recheck over and over again not to miss any steps. I think centering, mechanically resetting servos and swashplate is important to make the most of the Sk360. Was a bit concerned about connecting Receiver to Sk360, ReactorX and finally the servos but flight went well. For those who are experienced 3D flyer, load the 3d setting profile right away, the default 180deg is too slow. Even 210 is still a tad slow for me. I guess the important thing is to make sure the Sk360 gyro works properly tilting the swash counteracting when you tilt your heli in a certain direction (Roll and pitch)

                  Flight:

Flew 2 flights this morning. First one was a bit strange, it just felt strange lol, second one feels better when I trust it more. It is even stranger not being able to "smooth" out your lift off. You will just have to trust the gyro to do its work and hope the heli rise without any event.

Going into simple hovering around to look out for any strange behaviours, I noticed the heli seems to drifting about, looking back at the settings I made, the hiller decay is prob too high at 120% but the SKookum site says to put it at 150% even for sustained tic tocs and piro.

Tic tocs and flips are good, no weird behaviour but I need to tune the cyclics more to my taste. Fellow flyers commented that the tic toc and flips are really very precise and "straight". I did my first ever sustained flips in sort of a spot continously without screwing too much with cyclics.

Tried a bit of backward and I must say this Sk360 is going to be a big help, just let go of controls and the heli stays that way pretty much, no nasty surprises. Funnels tail down is a lot of fun and it looks really good, very smooth and precise.

I tried piro flipping too, it is a bit hairy, I only managed 2-3 flips before I lose all timing. Recovery is easy too, just let go, orientate and recover. It is either I need to get used to it and relearn the feel or there is more tuning to play with.

                  Some concern I have:
                  - Have a slight tendency to want to rudder left on tic tocs and tailslides, need to see where that is coming from.

                  - Losing some feel of the heli, I am more dependent on my eyes now, no longer am able to feel the heli in moves like piroflip, need some getting use to I think and more tuning.

                  Pros:
                  - USB interface makes setting up a breeze.
                  - Works very well, in fact makes me fly better lol, It is more like fly by wire now than direct.
                  - Pretty good investment for taming the heli and lets you focus on flying more than fixing phasing flybar issue.

care to share your SK360 setup tabs??? Did u firmware upgrade yet?

i recently upgraded my firmware to 1.10 and havent tested flight yet. tmr will be first flight with 1.10.. not sure how different it will be.

i did not upgrade yet, is it necessary? I did not get any tail bobbing for now and it seems to be affecting those softer damping heads.

                      Anyhow, my settings.

ok I need some advice here.

I have much quicker response to my heli when it still has got a flybar. I have since increase the bell gain and control rate a little, not too sure if it helps.

Do I decrease hiller gain to make it behave less stable? IE less paddle weight virtually etc? or Do I increase bell gain some more?

Also, when adjusting control rate or Bell gain, which one will actually influence the cyclic pitch? Both?
Stop looking for a gyro in my plane, they are all in the head.

if you increase the gain, it will be more sensitive (quicker response)
