i think this is one example y we should always take care of our flying field regardless we r nitro or electric flyers. there must be a reason y they decide to put up the sign. if i remembered correctly, i saw 1 previous post saying that flyers at JW will always fly low when theres an aircraft approaching landing or takeoff at the Tengah Air Base. but despite all that, they still banned rc flying there. so basically, its not just our flying attitude that matters, its all issue mix together. eg, safety, noise, cleanliness, etc. all these recipes spells disaster....
btw sad to learn bout this incident. its also the place where i first started rc and the place where i get to noe my sifu and friends.
Heard sign are up only at one of the 3 field.. hence, the other 2 should not be affected?.. Anyway.. The ban is long over due liao lor.. can be considered a bonus that it took such a long time for the sign to be put up.
Anyway. Can't say this will be the last Family photo lah.. Field dead?.. friendship and enthusiasm is still very much alive lah..
Well just got the news just now. Expect it coming. Anyway heard a rumour that the HDB is building a low-rise project at the site early last year. Just don't know when. I personally believe that the site was banned not because of cleanliness...etc. Must be due to something else. The only time the men in blue came when there are cars parked on both sides of the road thus causing congestion. Other than that we truly enjoy our flights up till this day. To all Jalan Bahar flyers, don't be disheartened and let's see what will happen next.
Actually some of the more obvious reason are that the field is located along the RSAF flight path. Many have seen Police and CD officer petrolling that area, and even TP. Yet. none have stop to question anyone there, and none have receive parking ticket..
Look at it this way lah.. the authority have no objection to the ongoing RC activity. but given the fact that it's along the airforce filght path, and also close proximity to schools, and some other facilities. and when something happens, someone's head may end up on the chopping board. taking action is actually the authority exercising due diligence..
If sign are put up on 2 out of 3 field.. Just take it that Jalan Bahar field just got smaller..
