Rotor Diameter 894mm with 400 mm rotor blades
Length 750mm
Main gear 120T
Ratio 7.05:1:5.45 using 17T pinion.

Any info on flying weight, recommended headspeed, and motor spec?

Flying weight 1.2 kg, headspeed 1700 to 2400rpm. Motor - mega 16/25/4. or Axi 28xx.

I am planning to run mine with lmt 1525/11 on 3s 8T/9T pinion and 120T main gear. Should give a theoritical hs of 2200 to 2500.

Latest Update from Japan,

EP8 uses Axi 2814/12, ESC 35amps, 3s2p etecs 1700.

This combination makes the power plant reasonable.

Hmm seems to be a bit on the heavy side...my VE now weights about the same after I changed to lipos.

What's the recommended motor equivalent of the Hacker series in terms of KV and turns? Me not familiar with AXIs and Megas.

My VE is abt 1.5kg with lipos.
The std gearing needs a motor abt 1200 to 1400 kv.

Maybe my mum's kitchen scale not accurate....but my VE is with RX batt pack somemore leh.....haven't weigh it after I changed to fibreglass blades...but i g'tee not more than 1.6kg coz it was 1.6kg with my NiMh packs.

First Impression

The kits arrived today, wah! big boxes but very light. Maybe some truth about the AUW of 1.2kg...sometimes cannot believe manufacturer's advertisement.

Opened the box, inside like nothing.........will reveal more tonight. Going to undress the packaging slowly...

Would this be a direct competition for the T-Rex? If it can perform like T-Rex or better, with those metal parts coming as a standard kit, I am sure this would be more rugged and precise.

I think it would be fairer to compare it to the Eco8 and VE series.
