    How to paint 'sun-shade'?

In most if not all 'normal' scale kits, the windows are always colourless transparent. However, many helicopter's overhead windows are tinted.

How does one 'tint' the sun-shade? I want to do it in green for my UH-1Y.

Haha! This morning, due to raining in Bishan, I can't maiden my bo-105. So, I decided to paint my bo-105 roof windshield also

I think most are green colored transparent. Maybe bo-105 maybe blue but I cannot certain. I know UH-1 is green.

Tamiya has transparent type of paint. I think the green one is this:
X-25 Clear Green or maybe X-28 Clear Green

For me, since it is weekend and lazy to go down to Static Model shop to look for clear green, I decided to disassemble a permanent ink marker of light green. Mix the ink marker with Tamiya thinner (which I bought long time ago). Then slowly paintbrush it onto the clear windshield. It is not easy and perfect though..but at least the clear windshield become green colored clear windshield.

I would recommend u to get the Tamiya clear green instead. I would recommend u test spray it onto plastic Coke bottle 1st. If it is good, U can go ahead and spray it.

Too bad my place's Popular bookstore do not sell Tamiya paint anymore.

EDIT: For spray paint, maybe this Tamiya paint also can use:
    "PS-44 Translucent Green - 100ml Spray Can"
The title "Translucent" make me wonder what will be the outcome? The best is to try it out. Prefer to use spray paint than paintbrush. If u have compressor and spray paint system, then the "X-25 Clear Green" might be better. If not, then "PS-44 Translucent Green - 100ml Spray Can".

        Hi SH,

I haven't been flying much lately because of my new baby.

Your idea of using a permanent marker and thinning it out is great. I think I'll try that; except I'll be using a darker green. To paint that little bit that I have, it is not worth spending the $12-15 and not use it again.

        Thanks.

Try it out on plastic Coke bottle 1st. They are/should be the same material.

If u going to use normal Thinner that u get from HomeFix, it may melt the plastic. Thus, try it out on Coke bottle 1st.

Tamiya Thinner and HomeFix thinner is different.

            OK, I'll do that.

The thinner that I was going to use is the Liquid Paper thinner from book shops. I have an extra bottle. Or, I thought of using Denatured Alchohol that I use to clean my Nitro stuff.

While drinking my "Sprite" soft drink...it suddenly hit me. Sprite plastic bottle is already green in color.

Maybe u can use it, cut it to shape instead
