    Pull start vs Electric Start

Is pull starting a Car engine a not too easy thing to do?

    Lost my Ezstarter...

Rotor don't carry.. and it going to cost a bomb to import 1 unit, not very worth it considering Ezstart2 gave me quite a few headaches...

I am choosing between a S$20 pull start... or a better electric started.. S$150...

Is pull starting that hard? My engine can usually start within 1 sec using a glow started and the ezstart...

What are the bad points of using a pull-start making it that unpopular (many prefer starter boxes...)

to me i prefer pull start leh. starter box too heavy with additional battery. some pple say pull start , the recoil spring always break. rope break or the one way bearing slipping. sometimes pple change a few pull starts, as well go get a starterbox. hehe. both good and bad for pull and starter box.

your engine should be new , compression so good . 1sec can start . which means one or two pull on the pull start should start the engine. starter box around $150. get the rotor team magic starterbox $190 plus with 30% discount. or hand starter $50.u need a 12 lead battery or, using 2 7.2V sub c battery also can. so add up approximate $200 compared to a $20 pull start

Have not try pull start yet but heard from ppl, they say that it can be tiring when u have to pull it more than 10X before the engine starts. And that the recoil always spoil..

I have a rotorstart. Easy to start and convenient. But sometimes the button stuck and the rotor keeps on rotating till u pull the plug from the batts. I got it stuck once.. then the gearing in the rotor-start broke.. .have to replace the gears which costs me $50

There are pros and cons.. its just depends on ur luck.. hehe

Will get blisters on the fingers and stronger arm too especially when engine is new or engine tuning is out
I prefers starter box.. no tired arm ... but need the energy to carry the box .. also got another 12v battery and charger to worry about

Both have its pros and cons.... I have pullstart for my off roaders but its good to have a starterbox if the truck can use one

Pull start where got so fast? I need about 3 pulls. your engine also must be tuned properly if not must pull alot then can start.

prefer pull start...the larger engines tend to need a bit more force to pull, but they tend to start easier and are able to run with a not so good setting.

                          Thanks for all the feedbacks..

After giving it some thoughts and reading more comments from the web... I decide to go with another electric starter... but not the stock one...

Not a starter box too since my trunk can't take starter boxes
                          huh

Make one lah...... Just connect your 7.2V directly to the motor leads. Of course do a push switch somewhere along the way so you can trigger the motor.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.
