Build a Rescue Cat

Had short boating meet with Mad Armour and Phanchingchong on sunday morning and so was left with a long day to finish off this little silly cat , with scrap balsa on table.

This is supposed to be a 15" racing catamaran, but I scale it down to about 7" in an attempt to make an rc rescue boat....I hope..

It is a really simple design, I started building it on saturday morning and now it's finished, except the electronics.

Wondering what to do with those scrap balsa, this is what u can make

After 6 hours, almost done...

I use a small little motor for pool trial..

Waterproof and painted for testing. Very stable, CG must shift backward to prevent the sponsons digging into water.

Give you an idea how small this cat is... . Now have to do up the electronics.

I oso got 1 kid, he will get to play with the cat unitil I convert it to rc..

Fly heli have to go outdoor ma, more time consuming....building is done indoor, can do it together with the kid too...

Can I sponsor a micro servo that's lying around in my tool box?
I'll never know if i'd ever need help from this rescue boat...

Cute lah! What kinda electronics req'd?

hmmm...havent confirmed really, but already got a micro servo for the rudder, intend to power the motor from 4.8v rx batt direct, I think must hav a series resistor with the motor. Now have to look for a lowcost micro rx to go with my futaba tx.

Better not to need this cat.... , but have to bring her along whenever we go boating just in case...

Thanks for the servo, i too hav one laying around too weak for anything...it has found a home at last.

Thanks Mad Armour, it's a small boat, building time also can cut short...

Decided not to buy micro rx, so i shifted the motor outboard to make space inside for a regular rx.
