    Easy to do Lipo balancer

    Jiri Srba's Lipo single access

I've done the same on my 3s packs. It works like a charm.
Cheap and simple to implement. Just need a 1 cell charger.
I find that after around 8-10 cycles the cells will get unbalanced. If left uncheck, overtime some of the cells would be overcharged and some undercharged causing degraded performance and destruction of the pack.

To save time, charge the them as a pack and when its close to fully charged (voltage around 12.5V) pull the pack off the charger and hook the charger to charge the cell individually till fully charged.

Also check out his videos of the piccolo meetings and hornet. Nice smooth flying and nice music too. Really enjoy his videos

    Great information FiT.

We appreciate your contribution very much.

    Just for the record.

Etec cells are manufactured under stringent QC. About 20% of the produced cells are discarded and only 80% are suitable for use. These 80% cells are balanced in the factory before packing them.

Always use Apache chargers to charge Etec cells to maintain its balance state. For competition purpose, it is better to charge all type of lipoly cells individually to get them 100% balanced.

So, the terminal shown is very useful.

    Thanks again FIT.

    Cheers,

    I have seen them all.

A mediocre r/c pilot who thinks that he is one top gun.

A nerd looking and sick flyer who thinks that he is a great modeller.

Greed that made a friend became a competitor.

          No problem guys,

glad to share new info around. Its not even a board. Its just another two extra wires connecting to the 2nd set of cells and by combining the 4 wires you can access each cell individually.

You don't need to build that "board" if you know which is which. To be safe I just use 2 speaker crimp terminals. You need a 1 cell charger.

Sebastian, if you can come over tomorrow to my place that would be best since Joe will be there. See the flying site thread for more info.

I liked that idea fir so I decied to make one of my one and test it on one of my old cells...it works great.

I just charge each side up seperatly and then put both sides together ( as per usual) to finish the charge
