New project-Twin 540 NQD.

i modified the toys NQD twin 380 motor electric boat to twin 540 motor.
i took away those ori parts and electronics, just using the body.

What i used:
1. Traxxas twin drive train set(for Villian EX).$90+
2. Mtronik Sport ESC.$80+
3. Tamiya RS540 motorX2.$24
4. Alum motor mount.(scratch build/home made)$5
5. Hitec RX.$50+

Here is some pics,
tested run in river speed not satisfied. using 6cell, tried both series and pallarer motor setup. is it the prop too big? the speed is worst than ori toys setup!

as for ESC, jeti is the best??look like can handle lots cells! where to get?? Sam(HobbyLink) no stock! my Mtronik only use up to 8 cells! the 14.4V one cos S$200+ I need help to make this boat run at lease as fast as Traxxas Villian EX! maybe change to single 700 motor setup???

Btw who in DH good/expert in Eboat?? or anybody feed in some advice!!! 10Q!!

i got an idea, add one more same type ESC and add one more batt. pack
so come up a twin motor twin ESC setup. each motor power by separate ESC+ 6 cell batt. pack. any comments??? change to smaller prop?? Add in gear reduction system???

Nice looking mod! I think the trouble is u added too much weight to the boat affecting the CG resulting in it not planing. Try moving the batts & adjusting the trims on the outdrive? If that doesnt work can add trims tabs. If u buy the speed controller ~$200 might as well get the Villian EX and save all the trouble?

Btw i was the 1 who bought the Nitro Vee from Doraemon. We plan to play on 4th June at Marina South pond ard 4.30pm. Come along..shd be fun

I'm not boat expert, but if u used 2 power trains i think the power will be better..... 1 6 cell pack to 2 direct drive motor not powerful muah thinks... unless the motor is a much smaller class one....

U switched from 2x 380 to 2x 540 setup.. ofcourse no power la!

Wonderful job in converting the toy boat.

To improve your speed, u may want to change the drive angle.

Your second, third and fourth pics showed the drive shaft angle. IMO, they are too steep, u are losing as much as 50% of power due to joint friction.

did your ESC control the motor to turn the pollarer one to the left and one to the right, i did use the same boat and change to bigger porpeller but it run slower. u can try bk the old smaller propeller n see will it run faster.
