custom 'X-cell' canopy on Hornet 2

Just being adventurous... not very successful attempt, there are some 'bleeding' of the paint work around, especially at the nose - which is the area which is quite hard to mask. Do comment

You got the canopy mounted just right.. The colours are good. The painting needs to be abit more 'clean'? Other than that it's a great scheme... and nice coats. what paints did u use?

P.S.> Did you buy your hornet 2 ARF from Ah Tat of HobbyShack?

No, I sold the Hornet II to blochead. I sold everything to from brashless motor ESC plus gyro 240 and all the electronics that which is Lipo battery and servo too. The Hornet II is a fully upgraded Hornet and I say blochead really got a very good deal from me and I glad he love it.

        Thanks MicroHeli-Nut for compliment

Wasn't an original design, got an idea when I saw a x-cell on some magazine with this similar design. Actually quite frustrating, cannot make the coat shine even with gloss top coat from Mr Hobby. I use Tamiya PS paint, all flat color except for the purple

As jameswilliam has said it, i bought the H2 from him. Only add a rx and also the duzi servo mounts.

Thanks William. This micro is just right for me I changed the servo as the previous set has one side of the mounting trim of for flat-120DEG set up. Using the original servos for future project - micro again!

Happy for both of you. James, that setup looks damn similar to Ah Tat's setup man.... Green skid stoppers... lengthen boom supports etc....

Anyway, blochead, i'm sorry to inform that u may have to mount ur 3 cyclic servos all over again.... the links are not "straight" to the swash. But if u're okay flying that way and dun mind, dun need to change. ( of course the change does help a lot!) *edit: k, just saw u were using duzi mounts, u could try to use shorter arms, double them up for stiffness... so that the links are close to "perpendicular" to the swashplate ( if u want)

may be we can start a hornet thread in here with lots of nice nice photos

              Hi microheli-nut,

yeah that's right, it isn't straight but too lazy to change hehehe but it flies ok now, at least for me maybe later if i am proficient with it and has more cash to spare than i will fine tune it again. i am not very familar with CP, ah tat did help alot. he commented on the servo links as well.

er, the stopper is actually yellow

james, the idea for the vertical tail fin is great!

hey microheli-nut, why not share some pics of ur hornet too?

                    Ray's Callsign = "MicroHeli-Nut"
                    Fit's Callsign = "Fit"

Both are long timer Hornet II flyer BUT according to Yoda, he sense the dark side force starting to drawn them to other heli liau.
