khpan, do you think the stock AX10 shock springs are too stiff and the entire rig sits too tallish for proper crawling ?

Had you changed any setup or springs to go lower and softer ?

After unpacking the box collected from Speedpost Paya Lebar....

The RTR comes complete ready to run as stated. Just plug in a Tamiya style battery and it will crawl / run.

However I took the time out to replace the plugs with Dean, which I had been using for all of my cars.

Then I converted the front axis to full time locked and changing the pinion from 20T to 14T for slower / proper crawling ability.

Initial test disclose that the motor was probably wired up reverse. The reversing is slow and smooth while the forward motion had jerks. After I reversed the motor wire ( simple unpluging only, no soldering ) and switching the throttle reverse on the transmitter ( came with TX and RX for RTR ), it would travel forward more precisely.

Next mod would be to remove my 80T crawler motor to be installed to my AX10.

Overall experience, pretty good, even with the 27T Axial motor that came with the rig. I would run the rig towards the wall and the front tyres would crawl up vertically against the wall. It would go up pillows and stuffs easily too.

However I would probably desire a lower stance by lowering it a little. It seems like its going to tip over with its tall presence. However I have not tried that yet, maybe visually it looks tall, but maybe its just OK.

Added weights to front wheels. 75 gm each.

Went to local hobby shop this afternoon and manage to source for some really cool stuffs and thus came up with my DIY metal links. Heavy duty stuffs

Replacing all my 4 plastic lower links with slim steels.

Damage is nothing compared to the actual hop up kit from Axial..

The hexagonal joints cost me $28 per pack with 2 assorted sizes.. I only used up 4 pieces out of a pack of 10. the 80mm tie rods are my old spares bought for about $8.

Luckily the stores had them of my desired length, albeit my 45 min long search at the store, but it was worth it.
