Hi,
R the spares for Hornet 2 expensive in HS?
What spares are mostly required? Any feedback on prices?
I could bring them in if necessary.
Cheers,
MackI have seen them all.

Here's an overview:
Bell-Hiller mixer: $47.40
Gears ( conical ) : $11
Blades: $75
Ms One-way: $46.40
LG Lower Carbon plate: $26
mack,
I think it would really be good if you can supply us with another source for blades as well as the carbon fibre tail boom and the carbon tail shaft..... One thing that HS does not carry are upgrade parts....

Hi mack,
I appreciate your efforts in trying to cater to our needs and provide them at lower prices.
I agree with Ray. Instead of bringing in MS spare parts which HS already carries in really good stock and at a competitive price as compared to the US, you should instead concentrate on bringing third party parts for us Hornet users.
For example Walt's mods. And other mods and improved parts from other manufacturers like S&S and heliup.
Also alternative sources of booms and blades especially.-Feda Dragonfly
-Hornet 2
-Pilot OK Turmeric
-Zoom Zoom 4D
-Sceadu EVO 50: OS50, Hatori521, Revmax,
-Hornet X3D
-Hornet X3D (yet to setup!)
-Formosa 1
-World Models Spot On 50
-HB King 2
-World Models Groovy 50 F3A
-RICCS F18 EDF

mack,
now's a good time to intro us to more sources where we can make blades?
The second blade issue is getting enough people for mack to be able to get the blade made.... So what kinda blade? Flat-bottoms? Symms?
I only feel that there's a few things that's seriously expensive in the Hornet 2 spares list:
1) Blades-> Seriously over priced
2) lower carbon frame -> still quite expensive
3) Carbon Fibre tail boom-> I think it's $17?
4) Tail gearbox?

Hi,
Thanks for the information guys.
Glenn, the LHS won't go bust. We have to encourage competition in order to benefit the consumers. Look at the Telco industry now. Are the consumers not getting better benefits now?
I would study the prices and advise later.
As for blades, I have someone overseas who could make FG and wooden blades for Hirobo. If the quantities are sufficient to make a mould, I think he could also make blades for Hornet II.

Back to the thread.
?UPDATE: It seems the latest shipment of Hornet 2 kits [ The one Bon and Super-Hornet bought ] have been optimised for the 'Twister' or 'AXI' outrunner..... Sorry i dun have pics now. But latest versions have 2 extra 1mm holes drilled further up front the motor mounting position, and owners will notice that the mounting holes on the lower FG plate are much more elongated than the top plastic frame's mounting holes.
UPDATE: Took a close look at Ah Tat's setup for his Hornet 2. He's been doing 3D even without the Bell-Hiller Head, and no modifications, just the MS-One way, 'Twister+ MS controller'. A few noticeable differences are that his heli uses longer tail boom supports [ he claims it's better] and he JB-welded his gears onto the tail drive shaft...... He also gave warning for those using CA! Check after every 10 flights! He's had gears slip on the hornet 1 before.....

hi,
When u r in JB, check out this shop.
Niko Sales and Service Center
L4.9 Plaza Angsana, Pusat Bandar Tampoi,

Tel: 60-7-234 36 15
Fax: 60-7-232 80 18
E-mail: niko3@pd.jaring.my
They are distributor for MS Composit. Maybe, u could get better prices for parts and heli.
Note: The above information might be history to some of us.
I have checked with my overseas contact regarding Hornet II. Our LHS; HS is selling it at a reasonable price. The parts are expensive almost everywhere. We should appreciate HS for bringing in a good heli.
The high prices must be due to high freight charges; especially from Czech to S'pore.
I could help Hornet II flyers to get parts that are not available in HS. If you want info on what are the parts that I could get, let me know and I would put them up here.
Parts from third parties, let me check this out first.
Cheers,

I think tho at time HS service shucks but we probably need to give them a pat on the shoulder. Months ago, SHS is still the authorise agent for MS Composit. Now it had been change to HS, good thing ..... under SHS, they even mention they don carry Hornet heli while they are the agent .....wats the point .....just MS blade..... They even boost that some form of CP is on the way....luckily no one fall for them else.....sigh......
