Depron Aircraft Carrier Scratch Build For My Son

Hi All,

This is the 1st time i'm posting in Boat Section, forgive me if i intrude into this area , i've never had a boat in my life before, let alone an r/c verson! but since YEOW encouraged me to post a thread here so here it is , it's just a cheap and simple depron foam non-scale aircraft carrier, i didn't even bother to assign a name or number on this carrier, it's just built for my son so he could put all his tiny planes on the flight deck and play, best part is, it only need one piece of 5mm depron foam from ArtFriend
I've done up to here, not sure if i want to paint it or not, as i said it's just a toy for my son
UHU POR foam glue used throughout the build, if anyone wants the cad drawings just PM me, you would be surprised how your wife will react when you build this for your son!

I did up some strips of webbing for the sides of the hull, just to give it a semi-scale look of the real carriers' sides, again, this is just a toy Go easy on me

wow .....NB.....sorry cant help it .....the carry even come with 1/350 Tamiya jet fighters...... ......you mean it is to scale..... Man you are cool ..... .....

Only set back is the front of the hull .....looks like a landing craft.... ....well who knows a new design for future carry lor multi function.....

A very happy father and son team .... one enjoy to build the other enjoy to play.... Too bad my father only love fish and bird not model.....

BTW you can get a self conseal under water motor that run on 1 pc of AA battery and come with easy attachment.....so your son can play with it in the pool.....

Thanks guys for your kind words I drew the hull simple so i can build it simple, don't want to complicate a simple toy for my son
Loyn: where to buy this underwater motor you mentioned? i may build another boat for experimentation purposes
It seems possible to make r/c boats out of depron too! just have to fibreglass the hull and some splash areas WooHoo! foam is so FUN! Yah my son is very happy with his aircraft carrier, i got that Tamiya 1:350 scale carrier-based Intruders x 2, F-4 Phantom x 2, E2C Hawkeyes x 2 and Sikhosky SeaKing Helicopters x 2, in total 8 aircrafts, not bad for S$6 a box, will go get another box of F-14 Tomcats, F-18 Hornets.

I get the motor unit from one of the shop near Bishan Junction 8. You exit from the KFC corner walk across the field towards the coffee shop. The shop is next to a computer shop (if still there). It is a DIY project shop for students .... you found a lot of Poly student getting their staff from there.

Ya those compressed can use for ship building too but difficult to form the right shape unless a landing craft.... or shape out from a large block...I think

One major advantage is it will never sink for sure

ok, the aircraft carrier project is done, don't think i'll be painting it, and my son Darren is very happy, that's more important
