    Afterburner LED

    Hello guys,

    My latest quick project, always wanted to try this, finally found some time.
    GWS 2A brushedmotor esc and amber coloured strip LED (with 3m doublesided tape for backing) from simlim tower.

    Mix the LED ESC to throttle. Simple, instant gratification.

    cheers
    kevin

        Samelah bro, straight out of the box. Trim a few clicks nose down for speedier flight...may be it is the battery, I used 35c batts for that flight.

            Trim nose down will increse crz speed to a limit, this prevent aircraft from climbing as it accelerates..

            THe lights were from scrap bits and pieces within my workshop...

                you dont physically connect it to esc. You set up a mix to activate the LED lights. The lights are connected to a seperate channel

                    So who was the first to come up with this idea, Jiez or Vortices?

                      Hi Vortices, I still don't understand how it works. What's the purpose of the brushed ESC? Mind elaborating a little more?
                      THanks.

                        Here is a rough sketch. Becareful over voltage if you use different esc. Also remember to deactivated the BEC from the LED ESC.

                          Wait wait a minit;

                          You plugged in the brushed ESC directly to the receiver? (meaning aka the red and black leads?) Then you also plugged in the JST servo connector to the receiver too? meaning you take up 2 servo slots? *confused

                            Is it a must to use brush ESC? How do u define the led is brush or BL?

                              LED uses dc, the out put of BL esc is AC therefore brushed esc seem to work fine also they are much cheaper.
