i think he meant high wing PROP planes to start with...not the DF types.

try to get those training planes with 95% completed...
i'm struggling with building the estarter right now!

i must admit i didn't use the stock brushed power system with nicd battery type cos' i've already amassed alot of 3S lipos & BL motors before i crashed my ST cessna ($250)! i don't wanna spend another sum on the old brushed / nicd power system...so i mod.

                a headache mod!

Why didn't you just get the estarter kit without the brushed power system or the one that already comes for brushless setup? With the NPS (no power system) version all you need to get is a 28mm motor mount from GWS which is stick mounted... easy!

                    what, wait...

you mean the estarter does has a BL option!? you have any links to it!?!?
but i see the recommended GWS esc & the kind of connectors used do not look like my lipo types...

anyway, the mod estarter has crashed...after 10 sec in a very remote site in punggol.
                    i used a turnigy 2209 12T 25ESC combo + 1650mah 3S with 3 x hitec65 & futaba 617FS...

i'm beginning to think if i'm suitable for this hobby or not.

It helps to have someone around to help you out. Someone experienced to have a look at your setup to avoid the crash. Someone experienced enough to maiden it for you and trim it out, especially in this case where the aircraft isn't stock and is a 'mod'.

The Estarter only needs a 2S 1000mAh lipo to fly. Taking this into consideration it only needs an 18A ESC to pair. Micro servos like HS55 or any cheap Eksy 8 or 9g servo is more than sufficient. It doesn't have to go beyond 500g to fly. Looking at your setup, it seems to be tipping over 700g.

I know that you want to save on your electronics that you already have on hand, but you may not end up saving the entire plane. You have to match the right setup for the corresponding plane. It sounds like your CoG was off.

i'll say bro, better start with a slow stick & get alot of props!
estarter is a little too fast for very green newbies like us...

better still get a maidened one or RTF version, maybe my buildup was the cause for the crash.

Couldn't agree with you more Buckman. And guys stop being insanely foolish by flying alone in some remote corner somewhere. Be friendly and go to the nearest flying site. Most of the Bros there would be more than willing to help. We were all newbies once.
Go back in one piece to fly another day.
                              Having fun yet?
