    Mini lathe/milling

    Anyone can recommend me a mini lathe/milling machine specially use for clockmaking. I prefer to have one that could be intergrated. If there is a used set available I will certainly consider

    The sherline machine is best for this kind of work

    small cnc machine, dremel rotary tool, proxxon tools, mini metal lathe, desktop cnc machines, small cnc mill, sherline cnc machines, dremel Singapore

    And for the most reown tools for watch making?

    I would not mention the brand here but we sold Sherline machine to a top world brand watch agent in Singapore for their service / repair department.

    Happy searching

      Thanks Mike, maybe you can recommend me the model. I just a hobbyist starting to have interest in repairing and collecting clocks but I want a machine that does all the works as stated earlier. I would prefer a used equipment as I'm on the beginning stage and budget constrain.Cheers

        If budget is your key issue, you either try finding a used machine or probably consider one of the cheapest available.

        In buying any machine, new / used, take into consideration the background of the manufacturer. Though this is a "miniature" system, it perform proportionally compare to those big production machine. Machine do not break down easily and usually last a lifetime. Sherline start producing their system since 1974 and I do not come across hearing ppl that they need to scrap their mill/lathe becos it is beyond repair / replacement parts.

        Ok, so much so for some history.

        Base on your requirement, you can look into the Unimat system. They are cheapest with lathe and mill function available. It suits clock making ppl as the travel range will cover whatever biggest watch available in market Unless u had an extraordinary one ....

        The Cool Tool

        The other option will be Sherline Ultimate machine

        Sherline Ultimate Package

        It probably off your budget but this is the system you need now and in future. I do not see the need to purchase another machine in your life time after this setup

        Slight cheaper alternative is to get a Sherline Lathe and buy a vertical attachment to have mill function.

        Sherline Vertical Attachment

        Probably will cost you $2K++

        Cheers
