The rear end really reminds me of the space transport from Space 1999.

    Kudos man!

Yes, we tried, but for some reason, the day of the competition, the gyros seem not to work properly. Anyhow it was not as stabil as it is now.

Only now, I am starting to enjoy flying it, before, it was very frustrating. It is one of the hardest project I have ever done. Crash course on gyros, heli handling and massive mixings!

The most important lessons from this project are, when doing new and experimental project, time must be available. Rushing just doesnt work. Secondly, sheilding from EM noise when using gyros is very very important. Lastly, support from friends is invaluble.

Now that phase one is complete, phase 2 has started. Will post update soon, once it is ready.

                cheers

Good one. Now you just need a nice airframe to wrap it around.

Very nice. Saw it displayed during the safmc competition, and here it is flying...

BTW, wat are the ducted fan and esc brand/specs, if u don't mind sharing...?

I can fully understand if it's top secret

I experimented with VTOL but found that ducted fans can't develop enough power without the ducts... And real-life electronics is not ideal, even if on paper the thrust is balanced - real-life is something else...
