Is anyone flying at the field at Tg Rhu during weekdays evening? The field there is quite nice. (Although very windy now.)

Is this field at Tanjong Rhu large enough to land a plane?
I measured the field is 250 m x 80 m on Google Earth.
Are we talking about the same field?
A photo will be nice...thanks.

It is a small field, frequent by families throughout the day.. with joggers, footballers, kite flyers, etc. Not advisable for planes, although length wise, it is more than sufficient for a small foam plane.
However, width wise, it is not that advisable. With the wind blowing from the river throughout the year, planes without power will end up getting blown across the field... I learn it the hard way, I flew my formosa there more than a year ago, and I had to do a dead stick landing. By the time I get it to land, the plane was close to the footpath across the field. After that single attempt to fly a plane there, I find that field is not suitable due to safety concerns.
Small helis (450 size) doing tiny circuits are still ok. Otherwise, for safety reasons, try not to. Yes, I do pop by now and then to hover my heli too.
The other open spaces near Tg Rhu are smaller in size, or adjacent to ECP, which is not wise too. Better spots are the fields near National Stadium, again more appropriate from park flyers.
I can see they are clearing some land opposite Tg Rhu (towards the sea). Still not accessible now. Maybe someday..
...
Maybe we should have a show of hands, how many are staying around Tg Rhu.. so far I know there are more than 4. Maybe have a mini hello gathering at Brewekz in the evenings or something.
huh

I flew there last weekend and it is a beautiful site. Very clean and got a good scenery. No problem for my slowstick. It is too slow to overshoot the field.Originally posted by nic View PostIt is a small field, frequent by families throughout the day.. with joggers, footballers, kite flyers, etc. Not advisable for planes, although length wise, it is more than sufficient for a small foam plane.
